This striking color serves a functional purpose: if any part of the yellow is visible after insertion, users can easily identify that the cable has not been adequately secured.

This design philosophy is consistent with MSI’s longstanding commitment to user-friendly solutions, drawing on the compatibility and reliability of its previous power supply units (PSUs) that utilized similar technology. Unlike other manufacturers that may employ complex indicators or warning systems, MSI opts for straightforward visual feedback.

The RTX 5070, while not equipped with the yellow indicator due to its relatively modest power consumption, embodies a keen understanding of user needs. With a total graphics power (TGP) rating of 250 W, the risks associated with loose connections are significantly reduced. In contrast, both the RTX 5070 Ti and higher models require closer scrutiny due to their TGP ratings—300 W, 360 W, and a staggering 575 W for the RTX 5090.
